Academic integrity
Honest work. Human evaluation.
KFMS expects original assignments, fair citation, and respect for classmates’ work. Similarity tooling can be added later. It is not running today.
Originality
Assignments must be the student’s own language and thinking. Copying from classmates, websites, or generative tools without acknowledgement is not accepted.
Citation
If a student consults a book, website, or person, they cite it in the work. Teachers can ask for sources as part of the brief.
Similarity awareness
The platform can queue a submission for similarity review. Scores, if a provider is later connected, are advisory — not automatic pass or fail.
Plagiarism prevention
Clear briefs, staged drafts, and in-class writing reduce the incentive to paste. Families see due dates early so work is not left to the last hour.
Ready for an institutional similarity API
Each submission can store an integrity review: queued status, optional similarity and originality figures, citation notes, and a JSON report field. That design can later connect to an approved institutional service such as Turnitin if the school supplies official API credentials.
Turnitin is not currently integrated. No live Turnitin report is generated, and KFMS does not claim a Turnitin partnership or licence on this site. Until credentials and a completed workflow exist, reviews remain internal placeholders.
What families should know
- The teacher remains the final evaluator. Marks, comments, and academic consequences are decided by staff — never by a similarity percentage alone.
- High similarity, if reported in future, is a prompt for conversation: citation gaps, shared worksheets, or copied passages.
- Students keep login details private and submit only their own files through the Student Portal.
